English Language Learners

I strive to provide a comfortable and inclusive educational environment, while ensuring each student receives the individualized attention and support they need.  We have a large population of English learners in our school.  To support these students and families, we have two translators in our front office that help speak to our families and translate our letters home.  We also have an English as a Second Language department with three staff members each assigned to two grade levels.  These teachers come into our classrooms to help assist these students and they also pull out small groups of these students to help teach them vocabulary and skills that will help them in the classroom. We strive to incorporate strategies into our daily lessons that will help our English learners to be successful.
